Cosplay Contest

DralaCon 2020


  1. All participants must have a valid DralaCon admission.

  2. All participants must read and agree to follow all rules of the Cosplay Contest.

  3. By registering for the Cosplay Contest, all participants agree to allow DralaCon to use their images for promotional purposes, both photographs and video.

  4. All convention policies must be upheld during the entirety of the Cosplay Contest.

  5. Volunteers may enter the Cosplay contest as long as volunteer related responsibilities are fulfilled and covered.

  6. DralaCon staff may not compete in the Cosplay Contest.


How To Enter

  1. Sign up for the Cosplay Contest begins February 1st 2020. To sign up fill out the Registration form at

  2. Day of sign ups may be available should any open slots remain. The Cosplay Contest entry session will take place on Saturday June 13th 2020 from 12:30 PM EST to 1:30 PM EST.

  3. Entrants are required to show up at the requested time for the contest itself. Entrants who miss any of the required events may be disqualified. Please see the official Schedule for times and locations of Cosplay Meetings and activites.

  4. All entries must be submitted by the time of pre-registration on Saturday June 13th.

  5. Each contestant may only enter one costume in the competition.


General Information

  1. The DralaCon Cosplay Contest is a family friendly event. Content should not go beyond PG-13.

  2. Offensive languange of any kind is not allowed - no racial or sexual epithets; no profanity, etc.

  3. No excessive violence.

  4. No sexual activity or contact - real or implied.

  5. No nudity - ALL costumes must adhere to the official convention rules.

  6. Be Clever not Crass! If you think your costume or presentation might be too risque or offensive, it probably is.

  7. No political statements are allowed during the stage time. Anyone who violates this may be disqualified from the competion, and removed from the convention without refund.

  8. No projectiles. Nothing must leave your person while you are on the stage.

  9. All prop weapons must conform to the DralaCOn Weapons Policy. No real or realistic guns, knives, swords, spears or other weapons are allowed. This includes attendees with a concealed carry permit. Any weapon or replica must be made of plastic or foam to be allowed into the event.

  10. You may suprise the audience, but NEVER SURPRISE THE STAFF.

  11. No fire, flame, smoke, fog, dry ice, or oily - in the prep area or the stage.

  12. No jumping on or off the stage - please use the designated stage entrances and exits as directed by DralaCon Staff.

  13. Conterstsants may not use stage time to make political, religious, insulting, or other demonsatrations.

  14. All desiciaons made by the Cosplay Contest Coordinatir are final.

  15. You must have some kind of foot covering. Shoes or boots are required.



  1. This is an opne genre contest, meaning there are no restrictions regarding the source material of a competing cosplay.

  2. All entries are strongly encouraged to bring reference material for thier costume. While we will not turn away entrioes that do not bring reference material, it is VERY helpful. Not all judges know all characters, so reference material is in everyone's best interest.

  3. Cosplays can be store bought, commisioned, or made by the contestant.

  4. One costume entry per person.

  5. A parent or guardian must accompany all contestants in the Youth and Kids categories for both the prejudging and the Cosplay Contest.

  6. All costumes must abide by the DralaCon Cosplay Policy. If a violation is discovered by any of the convention staff or judges, that entry will be disqualified.

  7. All contestants MUST fill out an entry form. A valid convention badge will be required to recieve your entry number.

  8. Special stage requests will be considered but cannot be guarenteed. Requests should be submitted in writing along with the entry form.

  9. No contest entries will be accepted once pre-judging has begun.

  10. Contestants who do not appear in full costume at pre-judging will be disqualified from the contest.

  11. The following winners will be selected to recieve awards.
    -A single Winner will be selected by judges for the Adult, Youth and Kids categories.

  12. All desicions made by the judges are final. All prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the contest.

  13. Any item or activity that presents the possiblity of damage to the entrants, thier costumes, the audience, or the facility is prohibited.

  14. Any participant may be disqualifed from the contest by DralaCon Staff for faliure to observe any of these rules.
